As the temperature climbs over 100 degrees here in the midst of California summer, my mind wanders, longing for the cool of winter.
A few years ago, I was sitting in a cabin in Lake Tahoe with a ball of white yarn and nothing to do. I gazed out the window at the snowdrifts and curving slopes of the ski resorts across the lake and began to think up a new design for this bundle of alpaca fiber in my lap. How nice it would be to sit in the cool of that winter cabin right now.
Instead, I found the notes that I used to create that original hat and cowl pattern from 2013 and revamped it to make it easy to read, and after spending the entirety of this holiday weekend knitting and designing, I now have the Alpine Cabled Hat and Cowl patterns available in my shops for download.
I absolutely cannot wait to wear this duo this winter. I also hope to very soon create a miniature version pattern for little kiddos, especially my little girl who is due to be born this Halloween. So, keep tuned for the little version! Should also be up by the end of this week!
